New England Radio Discussion Society to meet May 14th

Postby AI2Q » Mon May 13, 2019 12:41 pm

The New England Radio Discussion Society meets again this coming Tuesday, May 14th at The New School on Route One in Kennebunk at 7-PM.

The April issue of QST magazine had an anecdotal article authored by N6CL entitled "The Joy of Soldering." It described a new ham's venture into soldering some insulators and coax on a simple dipole antenna.

But, as most of you know, there's a lot more to soldering -- and to un-soldering -- than joining two wires. So, let's discuss soldering at Tuesday's pow-wow.

If you can, bring in one or two of your favorite soldering tools, and be prepared to relate some of your experiences with soldering and de-soldering. We'll look at everything from joining wires to soldering tiny surface-mount technology (SMT) components.

We'll gather for refreshments at the local McDonald's for our usual gabfest following the "formal" meeting. Remember, NERDS participation involves no boring business meetings, no constitutional debates, and no dues. Let's talk Amateur Radio!

CU there!
