Bulletin from the Southern Maine Area Amateur Radio Team

The next meeting of the Southern Maine Area Amateur Radio Team is slated for Tuesday, March 29th at The New School on Rt. One in Kennebunk.

We'll convene at 7-PM. All Radio Amateurs, newcomers, friends, families, and New England Radio Discussion Society (NERDS) founders, are invited to SMAART meetings.

In this session's Tech Talk we'll discuss "HF antennas for beginners," and use the popular EZNEC antenna modeling program to analyze possible performance. Using EZNEC, we'll show how KC1DLE's L-doublet antenna may work on various HF bands.

We will also continue planning for 2Ø16 ARRL Field Day.

As always try and bring a show-and-tell item or two for the Tech Tales session.

Upgrade News

Congratulations to WB2UQP, Susan, on attaining her General Class ticket. Congrats, too, to KB1VPD, Tom, for his upgrade to Extra Class. Kudos as well to those completing the SMAART Morse Course. Good going, folks!

A follow-on coffee-and-donuts session happens at the local McDonalds after the March 29th meeting.

Hamfest Fun!

Don't forget the Maine ARRL Convention, hamfest, and flea market this weekend. It commences on Friday, March 25th at the Ramada Conference Center, 490 Pleasant St. The doors also open on Saturday at 8-AM. Admission is $8.

CU there!
