About

Welcome to the official website of the Port City Amateur Radio Club! Amateur radio is an exciting hobby that can provide a lifetime of enjoyment. Radio amateurs or “hams” communicate around the neighborhood and around the world using state of the art equipment and antennas. Explore this site to learn more about amateur radio and our club.

Located in the seacoast region of New Hampshire, we use all sorts of modes of radio communication, from the time honored Morse Code to the latest digital methods. The PCARC is a dynamic club that has been growing for several years, and we have a club station complete with VHF/UHF, APRS, and two HF stations. Currently the club has wire antennas for 80 and 40 meters, a TH7 tri-band beam, 6 element 6 meter beam, and VHF verticals on a 100ft tower.

Our membership is incredibly diverse – members range in age from the teens to a few members over 80 years old. Member experience is equally diverse – we have experts in QRP, contesting, antenna building, “home brewing,” DX’ing, APRS, digital modes, public service communications, and more. We hope you will consider becoming a member of our club soon!
